How to find buried treasure from a Minecraft seed
How buried treasure is placed
Buried treasure generates in beach and ocean biomes on a per-chunk check, so a beach can hold one chest in this chunk and nothing in the next. The chest is always hidden under sand or gravel roughly one block below the surface, never buried deep.
Heart of the Sea
Every buried-treasure chest contains a Heart of the Sea, the key ingredient for crafting a conduit that gives underwater breathing and night vision. Treasure maps from shipwrecks and ocean ruins point to the same chests, so the two scans work well together.
Digging to the chest
The scan returns the exact block X/Z, so drop to sea level, walk to the coordinates and dig down one or two blocks until you break into the chest. On land the chest sits around Y 60; near the shore it can spill out of the sand underwater.
The scan runs in your browser on the same free engine as the main SeedFinder console: no download, no login, and it reads Bedrock and Java seeds. Prefer to script it? Use the same engine over the REST API. See the API documentation.
