How to find a shipwreck from a Minecraft seed
Where shipwrecks generate
Shipwrecks generate in ocean and beach biomes, on or just below the sea floor. Some sit upright, others lie on their side or break in two, and they can be partly buried - which is why a coordinate scan saves a lot of aimless diving.
Supply and treasure chests
Each shipwreck holds up to three chests: supply, treasure and map. Between them you find iron, gold, emeralds, food, paper and often a buried-treasure map, making shipwrecks one of the best early sources of iron and emeralds.
Using the treasure map
Follow the map's red X to dig up a buried chest containing a Heart of the Sea plus more iron, gold and diamonds. Locate the shipwreck first, then run a buried-treasure scan around the map area to pinpoint the dig spot.
The scan runs in your browser on the same free engine as the main SeedFinder console: no download, no login, and it reads Bedrock and Java seeds. Prefer to script it? Use the same engine over the REST API. See the API documentation.
