How to find ocean ruins from a Minecraft seed
Where ocean ruins generate
Ocean ruins generate underwater in ocean biomes, in warm and cold variants with different blocks. They appear as small clusters of ruined brick, stone and gravel, often half-buried in the seabed or hidden among kelp, which makes them hard to spot while swimming.
Buried-treasure maps
Chests in ocean ruins frequently contain a buried-treasure map that points to a chest holding a Heart of the Sea. Running a ruins scan alongside a treasure scan lets you chain the two into a conduit without searching the coastline by hand.
Loot and suspicious blocks
Expect coal, wheat, gold nuggets, enchanted fishing rods and emeralds. In newer worlds the ruins also hide suspicious sand or gravel, so bring a brush to sift them for pottery sherds and other archaeology finds.
The scan runs in your browser on the same free engine as the main SeedFinder console: no download, no login, and it reads Bedrock and Java seeds. Prefer to script it? Use the same engine over the REST API. See the API documentation.
