How to find a woodland mansion from a Minecraft seed

Where woodland mansions generate

Woodland mansions generate only in dark forest biomes and are extremely rare, often thousands of blocks from spawn. Placement uses a wide grid, so mansions sit far apart - entering the seed is far cheaper than sailing the coastline looking for dark oak.

Totems of the undying

Evokers drop the totem of undying, which saves you from a single fatal hit, and mansions are the only natural source. Vindicators, evokers, allays and vexes roam the halls, so clear rooms before looting.

Other mansion loot

Mansion chests hold iron, gold, diamonds, lapis, books, enchanted gear and the rare "cat" and "13" music discs, plus a secret obsidian-and-diamond-block room behind a wall. Plan a full run rather than a quick chest grab - the best loot is deep inside.
